MONTVERDE, Fla. — The aircrew of a Coast Guard helicopter made an emergency landing Friday morning just west of Orlando, the agency said.
In a tweet, the crew of the MH-60 Jayhawk had to land the helicopter around 8:54 a.m. in Lake County, about 17 miles west of Orlando. The crew landed in an open field in the Monteverde area, according to WFTV-TV.
The helicopter and its seven-person crew belong to the Air Station Clearwater. There were no injuries reported, the Coast Guard said.
It remains unknown what prompted the emergency landing.
Efforts to repair the helicopter so it can return to its Clearwater base are ongoing.
