ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman found dead inside a burning car has prompted authorities to investigate what happened.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, it happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on Glasgow Avenue near Lake Marsha Drive.
Aerial footage from CBS affiliate WKMG shows the fire completely destroyed the car; the charred frame is largely what remains. The burned car was sitting in the driveway of a home. The fire scorched the driveway and even some of the sidewalk, video shows.
Deputies said when they arrived they found a woman in her 30s inside the burning car. After getting her out, fire rescue officials pronounced her dead, the sheriff's office said. The woman's identity has not been released at this time.
The sheriff's office said the State Fire Marshal's office is now handling the investigation.
