PALM BEACH, Fla. — A 62-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly trespassing onto Mar-a-Lago after receiving a warning just a day earlier.

Palm Beach Police arrested Ruby Rodriguez, who was issued a written trespass warning on Dec. 4 around 6:30 p.m., and then arrested the following morning after she was trying to meet with President-elect Donald Trump.

When Trump is at Mar-a-Lago, the surrounding area becomes a security zone established by the Secret Service. Barricades, cones, signage and staff members surround the area and checkpoints are created to prevent unauthorized entry inside, court records show.

Rodriguez was taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge, according to court records. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on a $1,000, which was increased to $25,000, according to the sheriff's office.

A month ago, a man was also arrested for trespassing on Mar-a-Lago. Zijie Li, 39, was previously issued a trespass warning and arrested for violating the warning, then he was arrested a second time for trying to get into Trump's estate, according to court records.

He was first issued a warning on July 19 then he was arrested on July 31, Oct. 30 and Nov. 7. Li was found incompetent and adjudicated for the charges, according to records.

Security in Palm Beach County has ramped up as Trump heads into his second term. WPTV reported the town has spent approximately $3,600 per day on law enforcement and fire rescue resources to protect him, according to a letter addressed to lawmakers by the mayor. In nearly one month, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spent $2.8 million in protection costs, according to the letter.
