AVENTURA, Fla. — An alligator was spotted roaming around Saturday in an Aventura neighborhood as residents jogged along nearby, according to a post on X.
The Aventura Police Department captured video showing the alligator walking through a crosswalk and into the bushes of a median near Northeast 34th Avenue and North Country Club Drive during an officer’s midnight shift, the post said.
Officials stayed on the scene, ensuring the gator didn’t disturb nearby residents, until “a professional was called out” to capture and relocate the animal.
The alligator was not reported hurt, nor did it hurt anyone in the area.
One person in the comment section under the Facebook post viewed the gator as a typical Florida resident.
“Let him stay. He pays taxes too,” the commenter wrote.
