ORLANDO, Fla. — A missing child alert was canceled after the 7-year-old boy reported missing was found dead in a body of water, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday.
Emerson Felix was last seen in the area of the 1700 block of Flintshire Street in Orlando. He was last seen wearing a light-colored cream shirt with a black logo across the chest, light blue shorts with a dark stripe on the side and dark slides.
The alert was activated Tuesday around 1 a.m. and Orange County Sheriff's deputies said they found Felix in a Facebook post at 10:30 a.m.
The sheriff's office says their detectives are still looking into "how this tragedy occurred."
"We mourn Emerson's loss and extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, his classmates and all who loved him," the sheriff's office wrote.
