A local photographer is using her talents to focus attention on the red tide crisis.
Hollie Agapi, of Hollie T Photography, usually aims her camera on the expected targets: weddings, couples, babies. But she recently produced a series of photos showing a couple amid the dead fish and marine life.
She posted the photos on Facebook and explained why she took them.
"The majority of my photo sessions happen along the coastline. As of now, those sessions are nonexistent. I would never bring a client to our beaches right now out of concern for their health and mine," she wrote.
She urged people to get involved and urge lawmakers to take action.
"Without people taking a stand this will become our normal & we will lose our fragile habitats and the beauty that makes our area so special," she wrote.
