TAMPA, Fla. — Publix is looking to replace a vacant former Winn-Dixie location on Gandy Boulevard, giving it two locations within a mile of each other in South Tampa.
The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports Publix is looking at the site at Gandy and South Manhattan Boulevard. The building would be knocked down and replaced with a 48,848-square-foot store.
The Winn-Dixie at that location closed last year.
There is a Publix at the Gandy Shopping Center at Dale Mabry Highway and Gandy.
TBBJ reports Publix is also planning to redevelop a store at the former Sports Authority across West Kennedy Boulevard from WestShore Plaza.
