BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Elections officials in South Florida faced protesters again Saturday. They're blasting elections officials after Gov. Rick Scott accused them of fraud.

Elections officials in Broward and Palm Beach counties met the state's deadline to submit their unofficial vote totals to the state, but some protesters are questioning their accuracy.

“Over 80,000 ballots have magically appeared since Election Day,” Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz said.

Broward's top elections official, Brenda Snipes, counted votes Saturday but didn't talk to the media. She’s accused of accidentally mixing a small number of rejected ballots with valid ones. Her lawyers deny fraud of any kind.

“Those are serious charges to recklessly offer out there,” an attorney for the supervisor of elections office said. “There's no basis for it.”

The attorney said they did meet a court-ordered deadline to hand over voting records to the governor's legal team.

Meanwhile, protesters in Palm Beach County called the supervisor of elections corrupt as she left a court hearing. A judge ordered her to review ballots that had to be copied because they were damaged or not filed properly. Saturday evening, she joined her staff to start the machine recount.

The Department of State confirms to 10News it has two staff members in Broward County to monitor the election process.

So far, they’ve seen no evidence of criminal activity.
