WASHINGTON, D.C. – A baby girl from Tampa got to meet President George W. Bush on Tuesday while attending the public viewing of President George H.W. Bush lying in state at the Capitol rotunda.
Brittan Collett's daughter got a picture with the 43rd president on Tuesday.
ConnectWise, the information technology company Collett works for, sent Collett to Washington, D.C. for an education conference. She decided to bring her family along for the trip.
Collett said her company is the reason the trip happened.
“Because ConnectWise takes developing our colleagues so seriously, is how this event happened for me and my daughter!” Collett said in an email to 10News. “I am beyond grateful to them for the opportunity that came out of this!”
George H.W. Bush’s state funeral was Wednesday. The next day he was laid to rest Thursday in in Houston.
