Here are the US Representatives who are projected to win their election bid in the Tampa Bay area

As of Tuesday evening, all projected winners in Tampa Bay area district races are incumbent candidates, with six being Republicans and only one Democrat.

TAMPA, Fla. — Millions of Florida voters had their voices heard as results came in for the 2024 Election.

While the race has not been called yet between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris regarding who would be the next U.S. President, the Tampa Bay area does know who will be representing its various districts.

As of Tuesday evening, all projected winners in Tampa Bay-district races are incumbent candidates, with six being Republicans and only one Democrat.

Here's a look at all Tampa Bay U.S. Representatives who won their election bid:

U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis: District 12

Republican Congressman Gus Bilirakis is projected to beat out his challenger, Democrat Rock Aboujaoude Jr., to win reelection for U.S. Congressional District 12, according to the Associated Press. This district covers all of Citrus and Hernando counties and most of Pasco County.  

U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna: District 13

Incumbent Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is projected to win reelection in the congressional race for District 13, defeating Democratic challenger Whitney Fox, according to the Associated Press. District 13 covers most of Pinellas County, with part of St. Petersburg voting for District 14.

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor: District 14

Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor is expected to represent Hillsborough and Pinellas counties for the District 14 seat. Castor is projected to beat out her Republican challenger Robert Rochford, according to the Associated Press.

U.S. Rep. Laurel Lee: District 15

Incumbent Republican Rep. Laurel Lee is projected to win her reelection bid for the U.S. Congressional District 15 seat and defeat Democratic candidate Patricia "Pat" Kemp, according to the Associated Press.

District 15 covers eastern Hillsborough County, including Thonotosassa, Plant City and part of Brandon. The district also includes parts of Pasco and Polk counties, including all of Zephyrhills and west Lakeland. 

Rep. Vern Buchanan: District 16

Incumbent Rep. Vern Buchanan is expected to win the District 16 seat and beat out Democratic challenger Jan Schneider, according to the Associated Press. The district serves Manatee County.

Rep. Greg Steube: District 17

Incumbent Republican Greg Steube is projected to retain his seat as U.S. Rep. for Florida’s 17th Congressional District over Democratic nominee Manny Lopez, according to the Associated Press.

District 17 covers all of Sarasota and Charlotte counties, as well as part of Lee County.

Rep. Scott Franklin: District 18

Incumbent Republican Scott Franklin is projected to retain his seat as U.S. Rep. for Florida’s 18th congressional district, beating out Democratic nominee Andrea Doria Kale, according to the Associated Press.

The district covers several Florida counties, including DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Okeechobee, most of Polk and a portion of Collier.
