Are you a member of the US Military voting in the 2024 Election? Here's what you need to know

TAMPA, Fla. — With Election Day approaching on Tuesday, Nov. 5, many around the country are preparing to cast their ballot.

However, members of the U.S. military who are currently serving our country overseas are not able to walk to their local polling locations like others. 

Here's what you need to know if you're a service member voting in the 2024 Election:

The basic steps: 

  1. Register and request your absentee ballot in one easy step. Fill out the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) and send it to your election office.
  2. Fill out and send in your ballot when it arrives.

Florida deadlines:

For Florida residents, the deadline for registration was Oct. 7

Ballot request 

  • Your request for a mail ballot must be received by Oct. 24
  • Your request for an email/inline or fax ballot must be received by Nov. 5

Ballot return

  • If you are within the U.S., your mail ballot must be received by Nov. 5 
  • If you are outside the U.S. your mail ballot must be postmarked by Nov. 5
