FLORIDA, USA — With Florida's state primaries just around the corner, some Sunshine State voters may be wondering what deadlines and dates they should be aware of for this year's General Election.
In the following guide, 10 Tampa Bay will break down the key election dates for 2024. Many of the deadlines for the primary election have passed, with Florida's state primaries happening Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, according to the Florida Division of Elections.
General Election 2024
The Flordia Division of Elections says state voters should be mindful of these deadlines and dates this election season.
- Deadline to send vote-by-mail ballots to UOCAVA voters: Sept. 21, 2024
- Deadline to send vote-by-mail ballots to domestic voters: Sept. 26, 2024 – October 3, 2024
- Deadline to register to vote: Oct. 7, 2024 (no deadline to change party affiliation)
- Deadline to request that ballot be mailed: Oct. 24, 2024
- Early voting period (mandatory period): Oct. 26 – Nov. 2, 2024
- Election Day: Nov. 5, 2024
