ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Republicans in Florida went to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballot in a presidential primary, though the party's pick has already been made.
Former President Donald Trump recently secured enough delegates to become his party's presumptive nominee. For Democrats, the party canceled its primary because it submitted President Joe Biden for the March ballot — and he is the Democratic Party's choice for president having secured enough delegates.

What will be determined as early as Tuesday evening is how much support Trump has among Republicans in Florida at this early stage in the race for the White House. Also appearing on the ballot will be Ryan Binkley, Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Asa Hutchinson and Vivek Ramaswamy.
Florida is a closed primary state, meaning voters who are registered members of political parties may vote for respective party candidates.
Polls in Florida are open until 7 p.m. local time. Voters waiting in line at 7 p.m. will have an opportunity to cast a ballot.
