Gov. Ron DeSantis will make a stop in the Tampa Bay area Monday, according to his office.
DeSantis is set to speak at 10:30 a.m. at St. Petersburg College. Florida Department of Education Commissioner Manny Diaz Jr. will join the governor.
There is no word yet on what DeSantis plans to speak about. 10 Tampa Bay will have a crew at the governor's news conference and will stream it live on our free 10 Tampa Bay app and our Facebook page.
This will be the first time DeSantis will speak publicly since President Joe Biden announced he would be dropping out of the presidential race. The Florida governor has repeatedly slammed the Biden administration and been a strong opposing voice.
On Sunday after Biden's announcement, DeSantis targeted Vice President Kamala Harris in a tweet saying she was "complicit in a massive coverup to hide and deny the fact that Joe Biden was not capable of discharging the duties of the office."
He went on to criticize Harris on her handling of the U.S./Mexico border, saying "She was also the border czar during the worst border crisis in American history."
