U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is not mincing words when it comes to her thoughts about President Donald Trump standing by Saudi Arabia despite the CIA's conclusion that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the killing of Washington Post columnist and U.S. resident Jamal Khashoggi.
In a tweet Wednesday, Gabbard wrote: "Hey @realdonaldtrump: being Saudi Arabia's b---- is not 'America First.'"
The Hawaii Democrat made headlines earlier this year when she criticized the president's handling of the nation's relationship with North Korea, in light of nuclear concerns.
Gabbard is a major in the Army National Guard. She has served two tours of duty in the Middle East.
On Tuesday, the president vowed to remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia to combat terrorism, as his administration awaited a full report detailing how Khashoggi died inside the consulate in Istanbul.
Khashoggi had been a critic of the Saudi regime. Officials in Turkey said evidence shows he was brutally murdered and dismembered by Saudi agents. His remains still haven't been found.
