BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - An observation deck at Pine Island Park, destroyed by Hurricane Hermine in 2016, has been restored and is now open to the public.

Part of the project was paid from Hernando County's Quality of Life fund, which has drawn some ire from residents due to the fund's initial intent to buy, protect and maintain environmentally sensitive lands, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
