ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — At least one person is dead and a driver charged with vehicular homicide after a crash in St. Petersburg, police said.
The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Central Avenue near 58th Street when investigators say a black Mercedes struck an SUV.
Police say the Mercedes ran a red light at 58th Street and a Hyundai Sonata headed southbound on 58th hit the Mercedes.
The Mercedes then hit a woman in the crosswalk, according to police. She died at the scene and no information about the victim's identity was immediately available.
The Mercedes driver, Anthony Ceafus, 19, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
