A court hearing was held Tuesday in the case of one of the suspects charged in last year’s deadly Bayshore Boulevard street racing crash.
Tristan Herrin was a passenger in one of the cars his brother was driving. Herrin faces a misdemeanor charge of unlawful racing on a highway.
On Tuesday afternoon, attorneys for both sides met before Judge John Conrad. The defense said it was getting closer to completing its discovery and depositions.
Herrin was not in court Tuesday. His next court date was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 6. If convicted, he could be sentenced up to a year in prison.
On May 23, 2018, Jessica Raubenolt, 24, and her 21-month-old daughter Lillia were killed during a street race crash while crossing Bayshore Boulevard near Knights Avenue. Herrin, his brother Cameron Herrin and John Barrineau face serious charges as their lawyers now prepare for a trial.
