PASCO COUNTY, Fla. -- Changes that could potentially save your life are coming to Pasco County's emergency system.
Commissioners have voted to revamp the county's 911 system.
10News has been telling you about dangerous delays and questionable conduct for years. Tonight we're getting a look at the updates negotiated with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. Among them:
- The creation of Department of Emergency Services
- Appointment of Kevin Guthrie as director
- Creation of two additional Emergency Management positions: an assistant director and a coordinator
Before today, Pasco's public safety communications department was without a director for a year and a half.
