GoFundMe created for boy whose whole family died in car crash

The fundraiser was organized by a family friend in wake of the deadly car crash.

LAMPASAS, Texas — A GoFundMe started for a boy who lost his whole family in a Lampasas car crash on Wednesday has raised over $400,000 from over 8,300 donations as of Thursday afternoon.

The GoFundMe was started by family friend Rajaraman Venkatachalam to support Adiryan Arvind, the 14-year-old boy who is now left without his family. For more information on the fundraiser, visit here.

The Arvind family was on their way to the University of Texas at Dallas to move in their daughter, Andril, when the deadly crash occurred. Adiryan Arvind was unable to travel with them as he was starting his first day of high school, according to Venkatachalam.

6 News reported the Lampasas crash on Tuesday, when a 2004 Cadillac CTS driven by 31-year-old Jacinto Gudino Duran of Copperas Cove was driving south on US 281 when the right rear tire is believed to have blown out, according to DPS.

Witnesses reportedly told DPS the Cadillac had passed them at a "very high rate of speed."

The blowout caused the vehicle to lose control, entering into a side skid and crossing into the northbound lanes and into the path of an oncoming vehicle, said DPS.

The other vehicle, a Kia Telluride driven by 45-year-old Mani Arvind with his wife, 40-year-old Pradeepa Arvind and their 17-year-old daughter inside, hit the passenger side of the Cadillac in the inside northbound lane, causing "extensive damage" to both vehicles, according to DPS.

The Arvind family, as well as Duran and another 23-year-old female passenger from Copperas Cove inside the Cadillac, died at the scene.
