An unsolved $900,000 Florida Lottery mystery swirls around Publix on Malabar Road in Palm Bay: Who bought an unclaimed winning Lucky Money ticket this summer?
And, where is the winning ticket? Was it inadvertently tossed in the trash? Stuffed into a forgotten pocket? Or dropped outdoors in the parking lot, then blown away in the wind to points unknown?
This morning, Florida Lottery officials issued a statewide press release warning that the $900,000 ticket will expire at midnight Feb. 1. That's when a 180-day window to claim the top prize expires.
The unidentified Publix lottery player hit the Lucky Money numbers in the Aug. 5 drawing: 10–24–25–35, and the Lucky Ball was 16.
According to lottery officials: "Players who may have purchased Lucky Money tickets at this retail location are encouraged to check their tickets for the Aug. 5 drawing."
