ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A St. Petersburg man was arrested after threatening to shoot up his former workplace, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

Dorian Robert Golej, 31, was arrested Monday night.

Golej was fired from Raytheon Corporation in Seminole on March 21 after the company's internal investigation found he had created a hostile work environment, deputies said.

On Monday, Golej's lawyer got multiple emails from him threatening workplace violence, deputies said. In one of the emails, deputies said Golej wrote, "No choice but to contemplate killing. I probably would have slaughtered everything one day, I think about it every day."

Golej's lawyer got in touch with Raytheon security to notify them of the threats. They locked down the facility and called Pinellas deputies. No danger was found at the company.

Deputies went to Golej's home. At first, he refused to come out and refused to talk to deputies, but he eventually left the home voluntarily and was taken into custody, according to law enforcement. Once in custody, deputies said Golej admitted to emailing the threats and said, "I feel like killing him, I would have slaughtered that place, turn it into a bloodbath."

He was charged with making threatening communications or threats of mass shooting. Golej was also Baker-acted, and a risk protection order was issued. The Baker act allows a person to be taken into custody and given a psychiatric exam against their will.
