Man arrested for DUI following serious crash in Pasco

Kasey N. Moreno, 26, of Spring Hill, has been charged with careless driving and DUI with serious injury for his role in the crash.

A 24-year-old Tampa man was critically injured in a three-vehicle crash in Pasco County on Friday caused by a drunk driver.

Marr'lon Bran'ddon Green is currently being treated for injuries sustained in the crash at St. Joseph's Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Around 5:43 p.m. Friday, Moreno, 26, was traveling northbound on US-41 North of State Road 54. Green was in a second vehicle and Sarah K. Taylor, 41, were traveling northbound in the outside lane of US-41 North of State Road 54.

Moreno failed to observe Green slowing to turn into a parking lot. As a result, Moreno struck the rear of the second vehicle. The driver of vehicle two was propelled forward and collided with the rear of Taylor's car. 

After the impact, Taylor rotated counter-clockwise and came to a final rest in the center lane of US-41. Moreno and the driver of vehicle two both traveled to the east shoulder and came to a final rest on the sidewalk.

Moreno was uninjured and Taylor has minor injuries.

Moreno was arrested after it was determined Moreno was driving under the influence. He was taken to Pasco County Jail.

According to the PCSO website, Moreno has five previous bookings. He was arrested in September for burglary. Most notable is Moreno's arrest in November of 2009 for leaving the scene of an accident with injuries or death.
