St. Pete Police officers are investigating a stabbing that took place overnight near the USF St. Pete campus.
Around 3 a.m. Wednesday, a passer-by was walking in the area of 4th St. South and Dali Blvd when he saw a woman lying on the ground.
When officers arrived they discovered the victim, 68 year old Loreen Theresa Chopin, had been stabbed multiple times.
Preliminary information is that she was walking, when a man on a bicycle rode up to her and stabbed her multiple times in the head and body. The wounds were not deep and not considered life-threatening. She was taken to Bayfront Health for treatment.
Investigators do not have a description of the suspect yet.
The case is still under investigation and no other details are available at this time.
