A concerned citizen helped arrest a woman who was driving drunk while her two children were in the car.
Around 9:30 p.m. on August 2, witnesses saw 34-year-old Kristy Kaskie driving erratically. She was unable to stay in her own lane so a concerned citizen followed her into the Shell gas station parking lot on East Lake Road.
Two witnesses positioned their vehicles in such a way that Kaskie was unable to leave and then they called the cops.
The witnesses observed Kaskie stumble nearly falling upon exiting her vehicle to enter the store.
Upon deputies arriving, contact was made with Kaskie who was unable to perform field sobriety tests and had a Blood Alcohol Level of .254.
Her two children, ages four and three, were in the backseat of the vehicle.
Kaskie was arrested for DUI and 2 Counts of Child Abuse. She was transported to the Pinellas County Jail. Both children were taken into protective custody by a family member.
