Woman arrested for attacking a deputy

Brandon, Florida -- A woman has been arrested for trying to stab a deputy with a pen.

Just after 7 p.m on Jan. 4, Deputy Brian Dawsy responded to a disturbance call at the Brandon Hospital Emergency Room involving Lisa Trant and her mother.

While Deputy Dawsy was talking to Trant's mother, Lisa reportedly attacked Deputy Dawsy from behind and stabbed him in the neck and right forearm before he and the hospital staff were able to subdue her.

Deputy Dawsy suffered a minor laceration and bruising from the back of his neck to the left side of his face. He was treated by Brandon Hospital staff on scene and was able to return to work.

Trant, 37, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer.
