Tampa Bay's major bridges fully reopen after Hurricane Helene

All the bridges shut down in the storm, and slowly began to reopen starting Friday morning.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation shut down the Gandy, Howard Frankland and Sunshine Skyway bridges - as well as the Courtney Campbell Causeway as Hurricane Helene's severe winds and storm surge slammed the region.

Officials began slowly reopening the bridges Friday morning. By Saturday morning, both lanes of all the major bridges were open to drivers.
