Jeff Patterson, Winter's friend and colleague says, quot;John had so much to live for he had so much going for him.quot; Winter was active in the community. As a Rough Rider he could be seen marching down Bayshore during Gasparilla festivities, passionate about collecting teddy bears for local children. WFLA meteorologist dead of apparent suicide
News Channel 8 Meteorologist John Winter was found dead in his home Thursday afternoon. Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials say they got an anonymous call to check on Winter. He was found dead of an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
