TAMPA, Fla. — A man died after being hit by a truck on Hillsborough Avenue Monday morning.
The pedestrian, who is in his mid-50s, was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a white Ford F-350 that was turning near the intersection with North Lois Avenue, according to the Tampa Police Department.
The driver is said to have stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The eastbound lanes of West Hillsborough Avenue were shut down police investigated, but they have since reopened.
The police department said speed doesn't appear to be a factor and no criminal charges are anticipated at this time.
