LAKELAND, Fla. — The former Lakeland city commissioner accused in the fatal shooting of an alleged shoplifter is out of jail after posting $150,000 bail.
Michael Dunn has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Christobal Lopez, who was shot on Oct. 3 while allegedly shoplifting from the military surplus store Dunn owns.
A judge on Thursday also said Dunn is to surrender any weapons he has and remain on house arrest.
When Dunn was released from jail, he was pursued by reporters as he ran to a vehicle.
