TAMPA, Fla. -- Don't throw away your shot at this one -- Hamilton tickets go on sale Nov. 16.
The Tony award-winning musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda comes to the Straz Center Feb. 12 through March 10.
The show puts a modern, hip-hop twist on the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton and America's Revolutionary Period.
The show is based on historian Ron Chernow's biography of Hamilton and fuses hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway music to tell "the story of America then...by America now."
Tickets for Hamilton go on sale at 9 a.m. on Nov. 16, although the online waiting room opened at 6 a.m. Prices range from $86 to $196 with a select number of $489 seat available for all performances.
The Straz Center said there is a maximum purchase limit of four tickets per account for engagement. There will also be a lottery for 40 $10 seats for all performances. The Straz Center said details for the lottery will be announced closer to the show dates.
The venue is cautioning those looking to buy tickets to only buy them through the Straz Center.
"It's tempting to get tickets any way you can," Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller said. "There are many sites and people who are selling overpriced, and in some cases, fraudulent tickets. For the best seats, the best prices and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases for the Tampa engagement should be made through The Straz."
