Jose 'JJ' Falcon dies after 18-month battle with bone cancer

The 18-year-old Nueces County Junior Livestock Show competitor who fought bone cancer for 18 months died Sunday.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Funeral arrangements for Jose "JJ" Falcon, an 18-year-old Santa Gertrudis High School senior who died of bone cancer Sunday, were announced Tuesday. 

Visitation will be held 3-6 p.m. Sunday at JK Northway Exposition Center, with the funeral service to follow immediately at 6 p.m.

A final viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at JK Northway Exposition Center, with burial following at 10 a.m. Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home. 

Falcon's mother broke the news of his death in a Facebook post Sunday, writing "Today at 1:45 p.m. Our sweet boy has gained his wings."
