Plant City, Florida -- A middle school teacher accused of having sex with one of her students has resigned.
Hillsborough County Schools confirmed that 30-year-old Megan Connors resigned from her position at Turkey Creek Middle School over the weekend.
She was arrested Friday, after detectives say she had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy. Connors had been teaching at Turkey Creek since July of last year.
Hillsborough County Schools released the following statement Friday night:
"We are disappointed. We have so many teachers who are doing a great job. This teacher had nothing in her background that indicated any problems. It's shocking and disappointing."
There is no indication any other students are involved, however, the investigation is still ongoing.
Connors bonded out of jail on Saturday.
