A new CBD dispensary opened in Ybor city called the Chillium Glass Gallery and CBD Dispensary. The grand opening was June 29.
The new dispensary owned by Carlos Herida brands itself as a first of its kind for the Tampa Bay area. It sells CBD products made from the hemp plant, not cannabis. None of its products contain THC, the chemical that gets you high.
“We’ve been warmly welcomed by the community. A lot of local business owners have shown us support. As a matter of fact, Stone Soup Company provided us with a great amount of Cuban food for our opening,” Herida said.
Herida says what also makes his company special is his wealth of knowledge on CBD products and how they can help people suffering from various ailments.
“You will find a whole dispensary of CBD products. You will find hemp flour, pre-rolls, blunts, joints, $5 dabs, lotions, hemorrhoid topical, cough syrup, dog treats, honey, edibles, all sorts of different stuff,” Herida said.
An expert at Certified Marijuana Doctors in Tampa says CBD has a plethora of health benefits, everything from helping with anxiety to withdrawals. And while he couldn’t name a risk of CBD, he recommended that people not take more than 600 milligrams a day.
Meanwhile, people in the community came flocking to the opening, happy that a resource is now close by.
“Having the actual stores and products available in our neighborhoods is something that’s so monumental,” Moriah Barnhart said.
Selling CBD products is legal, and you do not need a Florida medical marijuana ID to buy any of the products at Chillium Glass Gallery and CBD Dispensary. The store is located at 1714 E 7th Ave in Tampa.
