City of Tampa extends deadline to pick up cars in free storm parking in city garages | $30 fee for missing deadline

TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Mayor Jane Castor is extending the deadline for residents to pick up their vehicles from storm parking in city garages for free.

If you pick up your car before noon on Sunday, Oct. 13, you won't have to pay anything to get out. If you miss that deadline, the city says residents should NOT scan their original ticket. Instead, press the "lost ticket" button and pay a flat $30 fee.

If residents have picked up their vehicles before the extended deadline and were asked to pay, they can reach out to parking@tampagov.net for reimbursement.

The city said it's extending the deadline to help residents who are "experiencing hardships from loss of power and fuel," according to a post on Facebook.
