A Webb Middle School seventh-grader was arrested Monday after being found with a gun on campus, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Tampa police forwarded an anonymous tip to deputies that the 14-year-old, whose name we are withholding because of his age, was selling drugs on school property and was known to carry a gun.
School administrators searched the student's property and found an unloaded Diamondback Arms .380 semi-automatic pistol and two live bullets in his backpack.
The student was arrested and transported to the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center. He has been charged with possession of a firearm on school property and being a minor in possession of a firearm.
