Tampa Bay Bucs unveil new license plate

The Buccaneers plate, which was first offered in 1998, is the most popular specialty license plate among the three professional football teams in Florida. The new design had been in development since the team introduced a refreshed logo and new uniforms in February of 2014.

Tampa, Florida -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a revised specialty license plate featuring a new-look design is now available for purchase.

The new plate, which contains the team's iconic windswept red battle flag logo placed upon a rich pewter backdrop, is available for sale at all Tax Collector offices throughout Florida as well as online at www.myfloridaspecialtyplate.com.

The new design incorporates two aesthetic elements that are unique to the Buccaneers specialty plates: white lettering and the absence of additional printing along the bottom of the plate.

The annual cost for the specialty plate registration is $25 in addition to the customary plate switch out and state registration fees. Revenues generated by the annual registration fees of the specialty plate will benefit the Florida Sports Foundation Major and Regional Grant Program as well as the Glazer Family Foundation.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' F.L.O.W. Mobile will be stationed at One Buccaneer Place during the opening weekend of the team's 2015 training camp for fans interested in purchasing the specialty license plate on-site. The Buccaneers will open training camp with practice from 2:30-5:00 p.m. on August 1 and from 4:30-7:00 p.m. on August 2 (gates open one hour prior to the start of practice on both days).
