Super Bowl fans pack Tampa Bay sports bar

"It is invigorating, wonderful, an electric charge. Everybody's screaming, jumping and yelling," Pam Durkin said.

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. — This Super Bowl Sunday, Chiefs and 49ers fans packed local sports bars across the Tampa Bay area.

There wasn't a single empty chair inside the Glory Days Grill sports bar. One of those chairs filled by Pam Durkin, a member of the Arrowhead South Chiefs fan group.

“The last couple of weeks we had over 200 people here,” Durkin said.

Pam Durkin moved to Florida a few years ago from Kansas. She said she watches every game at Glory Days with her sports family.

“It is invigorating, wonderful, an electric charge. Everybody's screaming and jumping and yelling,” Durkin said.

Durkin considers Glory Days a Chiefs bar, but there were a few 49ers fans like Judi Sidney.

“This just happens to be my home bar, too, and I’m going to cheer for San Francisco here because that's the team I want to win today,” Sidney said.
