A man has been charged with manslaughter after a bar fight in St. Pete turned deadly on Feb. 10.

St. Pete Police say around 2:36 a.m., the two men began arguing inside of Angelo's Grill and Bar at 536 1st Avenue North in downtown St. Petersburg. The argument made its way outside of the bar.

One of the men, 39-year-old Bobby Ryan punched Christopher Motlenski, 53, in the head. Motlenski fell backwards striking his head on the pavement, knocking him unconscious.

Motlenski was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he remained unconscious and was listed in critical but stable condition. Bobby Ryan was arrested at his St. Petersburg home and charged with battery.

The entire incident was caught on video surveillance.

On March 7, Motlenski succumbed to his injuries while under the hospice care at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

The report from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office stated that the cause of Motlenski's death was complications due to head trauma and ruled his death to be a homicide.

On March 15, the Pinellas County State Attorney's Office amended Ryan's arrest charge to manslaughter.
