Crews set to begin repairs on South Jetty Beach walkway following Hurricane Debby

The City of Venice Public Works Department is focusing on the Jetty walkway and relocating rocks that shifted due to the storm.

VENICE, Fla. — Repairs are set to begin Wednesday morning at South Jetty Beach in Venice following the aftermath of Hurricane Debby.

The City of Venice Public Works Department is focusing on the Jetty walkway and relocating rocks that shifted due to the storm.

Officials said the rest of Humphris Park, including Jetty Jack’s, remain open to the public, but ask that visitors stay outside of the barricaded area while crews begin work.

The department said it hopes to have rocks moved and asphalt repaired within two weeks, but note that it may vary based on weather, equipment and materials.

"Your patience is appreciated as this important project is completed," the city wrote in a news release.
