NOKOMIS, Fla. — One person was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a crash involving a school bus, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said that no students were on board the bus during the crash.
It happened just before 7:15 a.m. at Laurel Road and South Tamiami Trail in Nokomis. A driver from one of two other vehicles that were involved in the crash was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice, but deputies described their injuries as minor.
The school bus driver and an adult passenger on the bus were treated at the scene.
The sheriff's office did not say how the crash happened but noted that no roads were closed.
An investigation remains underway.
