SARASOTA, Fla. -- A possible abduction from a Publix store has been found to be a domestic disturbance, deputies say.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office issued a news release Sunday evening, reporting an argument inside a Publix store led to a man pulling a woman into his Jeep against her will.
The sheriff's office canceled the bulletin when the woman made contact to report a domestic disturbance. She is OK, authorities say.
They were seen just after 6 p.m. Sunday at the Publix at 5391 Fruitville Road, an earlier news release said. It appeared they got into some sort of fight.
Deputies say the man was seen pulling the woman from the store by her backpack and forcing her into a 2007 silver Jeep Liberty. Bystanders tried to help, but the man prevented the woman from leaving the Jeep and drove off.
