ENGLEWOOD, Fla. — There's a new millionaire in Tampa Bay!

John Long, a 68-year-old Sarasota man, won the $1.75 million jackpot from a Jackpot Triple Play drawing held on Oct. 24, 2023, the Florida Lottery announced Wednesday.

Long purchased his winning ticket from the Dearborn Corner Market, located in the area of West Dearborn Street in Englewood.

Long chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.006 million. The market also earned a bonus commission of $1,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The next drawing for the Jackpot Triple Play is at 11:15 p.m. Friday, with the jackpot set at $975,000.

Jackpots start at $250,000 and can roll over to reach $2 million before rolling down to increase lower-prize levels in each drawing until someone wins the jackpot.

To win, players must match three or more numbers from the same set to the winning numbers drawn.
