Sarasota city clerk and auditor on paid leave after report accuses her of 'bullying'

Pamela Nadalini is on leave after a 77-page report questioned her treatment of staff.

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Sarasota's city clerk and auditor is on paid administrative leave after a law firm's investigation found she bullied employees.

Pamela Nadalini is accused of creating a toxic work environment by yelling at and badgering city staff, according to our news partners at WWSB.

The investigating law firm interviewed 54 people during the month of November and said it found a pattern of retaliation in Nadalini's office, WWSB reported. However, most of the same people also reportedly said Nadalini adequately performs her job, follows the law and abides by city policies.

A spokesperson for the city of Sarasota tells 10News the law firm reached out to Nadalini four different times, but she refused to participate in the investigation.

City officials now intend to meet with her on Jan. 7, so she can respond to the allegations.
