NOKOMIS, Fla. — A crash involving two vehicles in Nokomis has sent multiple people to the hospital, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
The crash happened around 9:21 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Tamiami Trail South and Colonia Lane East, deputies said. All southbound lanes will reportedly be shut down for an extended time.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said they are assisting Florida Highway Patrol with the investigation.
The sheriff's office is asking drivers to avoid the area at this time.
