LAKELAND, Fla. — Police are looking for a driver who they said rammed into a 67-year-old woman while she was crossing the street, and then fled the scene. The woman died from her injuries.

The Lakeland Police Department responded to the hit-and-run crash just after midnight on Saturday. Officials said Robin Brown was trying to cross South Florida Avenue from Palmetto Avenue when she was struck by a car that was traveling southbound on South Florida Avenue.

The car did not stop and drove away, the agency said.

Officials said Brown was taken to a local hospital where she later died despite multiple life-saving efforts.

Traffic investigators from LPD are still looking for the car that was involved, which they believe is a gray or silver 2018-2022 Range Rover Sport 2.

Anyone with more information is asked to call Officer Camilo Almeida at camilo.almeida@lakelandgov.net or Heartland Crime Stoppers Florida.
