Police searching for man accused of exposing himself to child near Winter Haven school

Police say the man was wearing just a t-shirt, sunglasses and a mask when he opened his car door and exposed himself to the 12-year-old.

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Winter Haven police are searching for a man they say exposed himself to a 12-year-old child.

It happened around 7:45 a.m. Friday in the area of Avenue J SE and 4th Street SE.

The 12-year-old student was walking to school when they saw a silver SUV. The driver of that car pulled up next to the child, opened the car door and exposed himself, according to police.

The man was described as thin and wearing only a black t-shirt, mask and sunglasses.

The child also noted that the car did not have a license plate.

After the incident, police say the man was seen in the parking lot of Eye Specialists placing his license plate back and leaving on Avenue K.

The car appears to be a newer model SUV.

Anyone who recognizes the car or has information about the identity of the driver is asked to contact Detective Roe at 863- 287-7424 or the on-call supervisor at 863-401-2256.
