POLK COUNTY, Fla. — An "all clear" update was sent out at Polk State College after students and staff were told to shelter in place due to "individuals possibly armed near campus," according to a tweet.
In a tweet, the college said " ALL CLEAR at Lakeland Campus. The alert for Polk State College has been lifted. You may resume your normal activities."
An hour prior, Polk County detectives were on the campus clearing the area. Deputies said they received a call around 9:20 a.m. reporting that someone in a car may have had a gun.
