LAKE WALES, Fla. — A mobile home in Lake Wales is destroyed after it went up in flames, according to Polk County Fire Rescue.
According to the agency, 23 units responded to the fire at 12:32 p.m. Wednesday on Dogyard Road. Members of the Frostproof Fire Department provided help.
When they arrived, one of the agency's engineers reported a fully involved mobile home with flames on all sides of the home. Authorities say they initiated a defensive fire attack after performing a size-up of the structure.
Fire rescue crews reportedly began shuttle operations using a water tanker and a dump tank when taking out the flames, due to the lack of hydrants in the area.
Investigators say there were no reported injuries or patients transported from the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
