LAKELAND, Fla. — A Lakeland man is now a millionaire after winning in a scratch-off game.
Richard Hawkins, 38, claimed the $2 million top prize from the Triple 777 scratch-off after buying the ticket from Wabash Marathon in Lakeland.
He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.28 million, according to a news release.
The retailers also received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
